Full-time position Admitting Clerk, Full-time: Monday – Friday / 9:30 am to 6 pm. Main duties include, but not limited to acting as the First Responder for main hospital phone calls and is responsible for answering, screening, and directing incoming phone calls. Meets with patients and/or their representatives to obtain patient demographics. Data includes name, address, age, religion, person(s) to notify in case of emergency, attending/ordering physician, and individual or insurance company responsible for payment of bill. Enters obtained information into the system and routes printed copy to designated department(s). Obtains signed Patient Consent Forms from patients. Directs patients to their designated appointment(s). May collect from patient their deductibles and co-payments & balances. Participates in performance improvement and KPI activities. Demonstrates competency in the use of department equipment, i.e., copy machine, facsimile machine, computer, scanner and various printers. Demonstrates competency in the use of Word, Excel & other programs. Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with individuals at all levels. Keeps the Business Office Manager apprised of unresolved situations and unusual occurrences. Excellent customer service skills required. Bilingual helpful. Clerk will perform other duties as assigned.
