The Dietary Department is now accepting applications for a Dietary Manager. Responsible for the day to day operations of the dietary department, which includes the planning, preparation and service of nutritious meals to patients, employees and visitors to the hospital.  Directs and controls the purchasing, preparation and presentation of food.  Supervises dietary department staff.  Ensures that standards of service are maintained.  Ensures that the food service areas are properly equipped, kept in good working order and meet strict occupational health and safety standards.  Carry out administrative duties such as budgeting, work schedules, rosters, attending meetings and writing reports.  Ensures that sanitation and quality control standards are met.  As this is a working supervisory position, must be able to function as a cook or dietary aide in the absence of such employee. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Dietary Manager Certification preferred
Knowledge of food preparation
Servsafe Manager Certification strongly recommended
Previous institutional or healthcare dietary experience preferred
Good organizational and management skills
Flexability to be able to work and cover different shifts
Knowledge of Federal, State and local codes as pertains to food handling and sanitation
Ability to follow and modify recipes
Basic computer skills
Must be able to read and write English
