Dr. Matthew Chang, M.D. – Opthamology

Dr. Chang specializes in corneal transplants, LASIK surgery, glaucoma, and other anterior segment disorders. He prides himself on being at the forefront of the latest technologies and techniques and is actively involved in several current research studies.

Dr. Chang completed his undergraduate degree at the Johns Hopkins University in 1992 and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute in Michigan and his fellowship training at the University of Arizona in the field of cornea, refractive surgery, and external disease.

Dr. Chang takes pride in educating his patients thoroughly so they are personally involved in their vision care. Patient satisfaction is his highest priority.

Dr. Dennard Ellison, M.D. – Ear, Nose & Throat

Dennard Ellison, MD, joined the ENT Clinic at San Luis Valley Health in 2010. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.  He went on to graduate from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1986, followed by a residency in general surgery at Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville, FL., and a residency in otolaryngology at Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. He was a staff otolaryngologist at the University of California San Diego Medical Center and San Diego VA Medical Center.

Dr. David Geiger, M.D. – General Surgery

Procedures: EGD’s and Colonoscopies

David Geiger specializes in General Surgery and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and several other professional associations, and was licensed by the American Osteopathy Board of Surgery.  He received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and then conducted his internship and residency in General Surgery at Memorial Hospital in York, PA.

Dr. Dilsher Nawaz, M.D. – Cardiology

Dr. Nawaz has practiced cardiology in the Denver Metro area for over the last fifteen years. He graduated from the leading Medical School in Egypt; and has resided in the United States for the past twenty five years. He received his cardiology training at the University of Colorado and additional specialty training in Interventional Cardiology, including peripheral interventions, at the Scripps Clinic in California and at the Arizona Heart Institute. His expertise lies in the area of coronary and peripheral interventions and the treatment of Heart failure.

Patrick Thompson, MD

Procedures: Endoscopy

Dr. Thompson served his country as a United States Marine after high school. Dr. Thompson then returned to the San Luis Valley to complete his undergraduate degree and began his career in the health care field as an Emergency Medical Technician. Thompson then received a scholarship to attend medical school. Dr. Thompson also served our country in the United States Air Force and retired in 2010. Dr. Thompson is excited to return to the San Luis Valley to complete his medical career.

Amy Robertson, M.D. – OB/GYN.D.

A native of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Dr. Robertson completed her Residency at the Oklahoma University Health Science Center in Oklahoma City. Prior to that, Dr. Robertson spent eight years at the University of North Carolina-chapel Hill as she completed undergraduate and medical school studies.
