Surgery Manager – (full-time in Del Norte) Registered Nurse that plans, directs, and coordinates the delivery of surgical procedures. Responsible for executing a vision for surgery services that aligns with the mission, goals and strategies of Rio Grande Hospital. Identifies opportunities to optimize growth of surgical services, creates relevant business development proposals and oversees operational/financial performance and resource utilization of existing programs. Creates and revises policies and procedures based on industry standards and regulatory compliance. Identifies opportunities for quality improvement, creates, implements, and assesses quality improvement projects. Responsible in managing the daily operations of the hospitals surgical department to streamline patient care. Interviews, hires and terminates surgical staff as needed. Other daily duties may include but are not limited to organizing facility records, providing relevant training and education to surgical services staff , devising work schedules and surgery schedules, assisting with patient billing, managing the budget plan, and communicating with surgeons and other surgical staff.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS, Colorado Registered Nurse License, license unencumbered. Education: High School Diploma, Graduate from an Accredited Nursing Program Experience: Must have experience in surgical services. Leadership experience is preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have verbal skills to present information and ideas essential to supervisory duties and to understand general nursing theory and practice; capable of dealing with people and working closely with patients; workable knowledge of safety procedures and sterilization procedures; must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language; must have patience and enthusiasm as well as the willingness and ability to handle difficult situations with good nursing judgment; must be able to work as a team member; must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures and regulations pertaining to Critical Access Hospitals or a willingness to learn.
