Robert Hunter, MD – Orthopedic Surgery, Sports Medicine

Dr. Hunter is a Board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports-medicine provider, seeing patients for chronic and acute musculoskeletal problems. He specializes in arthroscopic surgery, a technique that allows the surgeon to view the inside of a joint using a tiny camera called an arthroscope.  The surgeon performs necessary debridement or repairs using specialized instruments inserted into a joint through small incisions in the skin.  Dr. Hunter uses this technique with many knee and shoulder surgeries, including meniscectomies and meniscus repairs, ACL repairs, and shoulder rotator cuff repairs.  He further specializes in total shoulder joint replacements, shoulder and knee reconstructive surgeries, and wrist and hand surgeries including carpal tunnel release and trigger-finger release, done using an open technique.

Dr. Hunter also sees patients for non-surgical orthopedic issues, including sports-related injuries and chronic and acute injuries acquired through activities of work and play.

Dr. Jones sees patients at our Rio Grande Hospital Specialty Clinic in Del Norte on the second Wednesday of every month.

He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Jones is fellowship-trained in Adult Reconstruction, which includes exposure to hip and knee arthroplasty; osteotomy and arthroscopy of the hip and knee; and a variety of additional adult reconstructive surgical procedures.
