WELLNESS CENTER NOW OPEN

We are excited about our Wellness Center! The groundbreaking ceremony took place at the construction site adjoining the Rio Grande Hospital on Thursday, June 15, 2023. Since then, the construction has been moving forward as planned and officially opened on June 22, 2024.

Arlene Harms, CEO of Rio Grande Hospital, Phipps Construction, Keyes & Lauer Architects, Joe Aldrich, Owners’ Rep, some board members, and the community attended the opening. The plan for the 9,000 square foot Rio Grande Wellness Center building is to advance health, wellness, and healing, moving beyond sick care treatment to prevention and well-being.

The facility will include:

• A kitchen for healthy cooking and educational classes for healthy eating.
• Fitness room open to public by reservation only
• Private meditation rooms.
• Meeting rooms.
• A community lounge.
• A large community conference room.
• Other patients, community, and staff-focused amenities.

These features will all be connected by an educational hallway displaying instructional information on nutrition and mindfulness.
