STAFF NURSE, RN (full-time nights)- Provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned nursing unit(s). Assists physicians during treatments and examinations of patients. Administers medications per physician order. Performs other therapeutic measures either per physician order or as an independent nursing function. Observes, records and reports as appropriate the symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Provides patient education on illness management, disease prevention, and health promotion. Requires state licensure. Regular – Direct Patient Care

Licensure/Certification/Registration:   CPR, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC or PALS (strongly recommended to have both), Colorado Registered Nurse License, license unencumbered  Equipment Knowledge:  Excellent Computer Skills, Copy Machine and Fax Machine, Printers, Cardiac Monitoring Equipment, Electronic Health Records  Education: High School Diploma, Graduate from an Accredited Nursing Program  Experience:   Must have experience in medical surgical nursing, gerontology or emergency nursing or must have a willingness to learn skills required in those areas.    The Registered Nurse must be able to assess patients and relate information regarding patient’s condition.   Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:   Must have verbal skills to present information and ideas essential to supervisory duties and to understand general nursing theory and practice; capable of dealing with people and working closely with patients; workable knowledge of safety procedures;  must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language; must have patience and enthusiasm as well as the willingness and ability to handle difficult situations with good nursing judgment; must be able to work as a team member;  must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures and regulations pertaining to Critical Access Hospitals or a willingness to learn.
