Biography:
Dr. Berkbigler is a bit of a local celebrity having initially come to Valley in 1976 for one year which inspired him to complete his residency, returning to the Valley for his “first tour” from 1979 to 1991 and then his “second tour” from 2010 to present. Originally from Missouri, he completed medical school at the University of Missouri in Columbus and Residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO.

He is distinguished in medicine by his induction into Alpha Omega Alpha (top 10% percent of his medical school class) as well as Fellow the American College of Physicians. He is distinguished outside medicine by being among the select mountaineers to have climbed all 54 “fourteeners” in Colorado.

In his free time you may see him flying his plane, riding his motorcycle on a cross-country tour or spending time with his bride of 43 years.
