Orlando DeHerrera, DO, was born and raised in the San Luis Valley, he graduated from Antonito High School and later attended college at the University of Southern Colorado, in Pueblo. Dr DeHerrera attended the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO for his medical school training. He graduated in 1995, did his internship training in Dallas, TX before finishing his family practice residency at the Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation in Colorado Springs, CO. He returned to the San Luis Valley to work for Valley-Wide Health Services as a primary care physician in his hometown of Antonito, CO. Later, he relocated to TX, where he lived for 12 years with his wife and four children. In 2012 he moved back to CO, as he always felt that his true calling was to take care of the residents of the San Luis Valley. He worked for SLV Health for 10 years as a primary care provider in Monte Vista before trying his hand at being a medical director with Friday Health Plans.

Dr DeHerrera is excited to now be practicing with Monte Vista Medical Clinic of Rio Grande Hospital, near where he resides with his family. He is actively involved in the community and is happy to get back to his true calling as a primary care provider in the San Luis Valley
